VFW Post 3783 News:

 

 

 

 

At a recent VFW Post ceremony, Nathan Creswell of Boy Scout Troop 679, was recognized by Commander "Pontiac" John Hine for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. His Eagle project was to plan, develop, construct and erect the "Welcome To Ramona" sign for the Chamber of Commerce that shows upcoming community events. The sign is located on the South side of Highway 67 just East of the Vietnam War Memorial and entrance to the Schwaesdall winery. Nathan's parents, Greg and Susie Creswell were in attendance. The Creswell family live in San Diego Country Estates

 

 

At a recent Ramona VFW Post 3783 awards ceremony, Commander John "Pontiac" Hine presented certificates and $100 checks to Benjamin Anderson-Parks on the left, and Cody Anderson-Parks in recognition of their advancement to the rank of Eagle Scout.  Both students at Ramona High School, the brothers are members of Boy Scout Troop 130, which meets at the First Congregational Church under the leadership of Scoutmaster Tom Andrews.

 

 

Two members of Ramona VFW Post 3783 were invited to Kearny Mesa VFW Post 3788 recently to be recognized by the Department of Defense for their service on the Korean War.  U.S. Navy Master Chief George Little, second from right in back row and U.S. Marine Corps SSgt Kenneth Dower, back row left, were in attendance for the recognition ceremony.  U.S. Army Colonel David Clark, front center, presented certificates of appreciation signed by Leon E. Panneta, Secretary of Defense to each Veteran shown and was assisted by U.S. Navy Commander John O'Brien sitting to Colonel Clark's left.

 

 

 

Ramona’s latest Eagle Scout, Tanner B. Perfect being recognized and receiving his certificate from Post Commander John Pontiac Hine.

 

 

 

 

The Ramona Rebels Elite cheerleader team came out to the last Post meeting to show their appreciation for the support they received from the Post to help them in their inaugural season.
